Reclamation component completed but shore protection component delayed until further notice. The temporary jetty and reclamation components have been completed but beach works had to be postponed as the shore protection works have been delayed. This is a turnkey project undertaken by Sandcays involving surveys and Environmental Assessment as well as setting out of all structures under the project. It was one of the few projects where appropriate mitigation measures had led to not only low environmental impact but low cost of mitigation. It is the first project in which jumbo bags wrapped in geotextile was done for bunding and was seem to effectively minimize sand/sediment loss while retaining proposed shape of the island.
